Baseball Recap: Badger Comes Up Short

Badger had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it six. They lost 11-1 to the Windham Bombers. The Braves were not able to make up for their loss to the Bombers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Badger saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Harnett, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Windham, their record is now 6-4. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

On Windham's side, Keegan Kiser made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Kiser was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Kiser, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Dylan McCune, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Badger will venture away from home to square off against Harding at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Braves are facing the Skippers at the right time seeing as the Skippers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Windham, they are taking a road trip to challenge St. John at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
