Softball Recap: Wheaton North Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Wheaton North rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Oswego East Wolves.

Madison Moore tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Makayla Hammer, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

Wheaton North has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-22 record this season. As for Oswego East, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 25-10.

As of now, neither Wheaton North nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
