It was a good run, but Point Loma unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by the Mira Mesa Marauders 82-40. The Pointers lost against the Marauders in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 65-63 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Point Loma lost, don't look at Grant Stewart. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Dorris, who posted seven points.

Point Loma's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 16-3. As for Mira Mesa, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Point Loma didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-62 defeat against Madison on the 24th. As for Mira Mesa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 80-67 loss against Cathedral Catholic on the 23rd.
