Softball Recap: Carrboro's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Carrboro was the 7-6 winner over Louisburg when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. Carrboro fell 15-10 to Louisburg on Friday. The loss put an end to the Jaguars' undefeated start to the season.

Teagan Fichter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and 12 unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 20 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than 20 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Vivian Martin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Jill Schroeder, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Carrboro fell to 2-1. As for Louisburg, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Carrboro wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 16-6 win against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability on the 11th. As for Louisburg, they have also already played their next game, a 12-2 victory against Granville Central on the 11th.
