Softball Recap: Penn Manor Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Penn Manor won against Cedar Crest on Monday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Comets blew past the J.P. McCaskey Red Tornado 11-1. Considering the Comets have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kyleigh Lamborn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Riley Frank was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Zuzu Hardy was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Penn Manor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for J.P. McCaskey, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Penn Manor will venture away from home to face off against Solanco at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Mules will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something the Comets surely won't give up without a fight. As for J.P. McCaskey, they will welcome Reading at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
