Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Hampton's strategy against Santee on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Hawks blew the Warriors out of the water with a 63-0 final score. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.
Hampton's win came from a few key players Wallace will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Landen Hansen, who threw for 72 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 39 yards. Those 39 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Mason Wiens was another key player, picking up 47 receiving yards and two scores.
Hampton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Hansen led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Hampton's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Wallace, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Wallace has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 302.9 rushing yards per game.
