Baseball Recap: Jamestown Comes Up Short

Jamestown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Vienna Eagles.

Jamestown saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Dedrick, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Tristan Schoenthal also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Jamestown's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Vienna, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

When Jamestown and Vienna next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Jamestown will try to stop Tipton's four-game winning streak when they meet at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Vienna will square off against Stoutland and their three-game winning streak at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
