Empire is a perfect 10-0 against Tanque Verde since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Ravens will challenge the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Empire will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Empire's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy as they made off with a 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Ravens, who have now won 16 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Angelina Dehler was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Kapri Tiggas also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Empire always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pusch Ridge Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .150.
Tanque Verde never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Safford on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The Hawks are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 16th game they've won by 6+ runs this season.
The result came thanks to Julia Pratt's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Remi Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Cantalicio, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Empire pushed their record up to 22-0 with the win, which was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Tanque Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
Both Empire and Tanque Verde just can't seem to miss. The Ravens have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Tanque Verde struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Empire took their win against Tanque Verde in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ravens since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
