Azle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brewer Bears. The Hornets lost against the Bears in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 70-36 score last time.

Despite the defeat, Azle had strong showings from Cason Cook, who posted 13 points, and Jayden Taylor, who put up 16 points and five rebounds. Bryce Robinson was another key player, putting up eight points.

Brewer got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braylen Brown out in front who had 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Brown continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Jones, who posted 12 points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Azle's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Brewer, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-12.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Aledo the next time they take the court. Azle will head out to face Aledo at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, while Brewer will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on January 14th.
