Baseball Recap: Paoli Takes a Loss

Mitchell hit Paoli with a six-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams fell 8-5 to the Bluejackets. The Rams have struggled against the Bluejackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Cooper Spires put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Spires was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Spires wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Hickman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Aidan Hickman, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Paoli's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Mitchell, they moved to 2-4 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Paoli will welcome Eastern Greene at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mitchell, they will head out on the road to take on Crawford County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
