Baseball Recap: Providence Academy Continues Road Dominance on Monday

While Providence Academy put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Brooklyn Center. The Lions were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Centaurs. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

Providence Academy got a big performance out of Joe Berghult, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Nick Corbett was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Providence Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Providence Academy pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Brooklyn Center, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Academy will square off against New Life Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Brooklyn Center, they will face off against St. Paul Academy-Summit at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
