Basketball Recap: Steinbrenner Starts off Right with Win over Durant + How To Watch

Steinbrenner had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Durant Cougars 64-22. The Warriors pushed the score to 56-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars had no chance of recovering from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Steinbrenner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samantha Coble, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 25 points along with six assists and five steals. Those six assists gave Coble a new career-high. Breanna Hartley was another key player, going 7-for-11 to rack up 17 points and seven boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Steinbrenner was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durant only posted five.

Despite the loss, Durant had strong showings from Brinkley Marsh, who posted eight points, and Icyss Lopez, who scored no points.

Durant's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Steinbrenner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-39 win against Sarasota on the 20th. As for Durant, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-50 victory against East Bay on the 21st.
