The Shalom Christian Academy Flames will head out on the road to square off against the Camp Hill Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
On Tuesday, Shalom Christian Academy came up short against Conestoga Christian and fell 6-2.
Will Turner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Drake Wenger, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Camp Hill entered their tilt with Milton Hershey on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spartans a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Jonathan Drawbaugh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ty Kirchhoff, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Austin Shore also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Camp Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .571 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Camp Hill's record is now 6-7. As for Shalom Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Shalom Christian Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Flames have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Camp Hill, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Shalom Christian Academy continue to outrun the ball?
