Volleyball Recap: Choctaw Falls to Mount St. Mary in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Choctaw had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Mount St. Mary Rockets on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Choctaw took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-15, 25-16.

Leading Mount St. Mary to victory were Cheyenne Denwalt and Brecken Smiley. Denwalt had seven digs and one assist, while Smiley had six digs. Those seven digs gave Denwalt a new career-high.

Choctaw didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Heritage Hall on the 15th. As for Mount St. Mary, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Jenks on the 14th.
