Basketball Recap: Norfolk Collegiate Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Norfolk Collegiate can now relate to. They were dealt a 66-28 loss at the hands of The Covenant Eagles on Tuesday. The Mighty Oaks' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

The Covenant got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cece Corbey out in front who went 7-for-15 on her way to 18 points and three steals. That's the most points Corbey has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Makayla Hargrove, who put up 12 points and four steals.

Norfolk Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for The Covenant, their victory bumped their record up to 20-8.

Norfolk Collegiate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for The Covenant, they have already played their next game, a 72-59 defeat against Steward on the 26th.
