Baseball Game Preview: Belgrade Panthers vs. Great Falls Bison

The Belgrade Panthers will face off against the Great Falls Bison at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Belgrade will be strutting in after a win while Great Falls will be coming in after a loss.

Belgrade is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Russell, who was ranked seventh at the time (Belgrade was ranked 19th). The Panthers were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Rustlers on Tuesday. That 12-run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Meanwhile, Great Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to Billings West.

Belgrade's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Great Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Everything went Belgrade's way against Great Falls when the teams last played back in April, as Belgrade made off with a 12-3 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Bison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
