Volleyball Recap: Itasca Wampus Cats vs. Frost Polar Bears
Itasca came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Frost Polar Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Polar Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
While Itasca ultimately came up short, they really made Frost work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 26-24, 25-20.
Emma Malke paced Itasca's offense, picking up nine kills. Malke got some help from Rylee Markwardt and her 15 assists.
Itasca has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-13 record this season. As for Frost, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
Coincidentally, Itasca and Frost will both be playing Rio Vista the next time they take the court. The Polar Bears will host the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Wampus Cats will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
