Baseball Recap: St. Vincent-St. Mary Beats Chagrin Falls for Their Third Straight Win

St. Vincent-St. Mary had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Chagrin Falls Tigers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Fighting Irish also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2022.

Rylan Hurley was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Logan Henderson was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Vincent-St. Mary kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

St. Vincent-St. Mary pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chagrin Falls, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Vincent-St. Mary will square off against Barberton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chagrin Falls, they will face off against Kenston at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
