Baseball Recap: Muncie Central Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Richmond, Muncie Central was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Blackford Bruins. That's more bragging rights for the Bearcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Fletcher Kahle made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Kahle was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Logan Campbell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gage Emberton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Muncie Central's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Blackford, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Muncie Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Lafayette Jefferson on the 19th. As for Blackford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 7-4 win against Lewis Cass on the 18th.
