Football Game Preview: Valor Christian Eagles vs. Cherry Creek Bruins + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Chase Hanosh and Jayden Fox are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Valor Christian Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Cherry Creek Bruins at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Valor Christian comes in on six and Cherry Creek on 25.

Valor Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 31-30 victory over Legend.

Channing Fox was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Valor Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Cherry Creek faced Fairview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bruins blew past the Knights 49-28. Considering the Bruins have won 11 games by more than 20 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Cherry Creek had a senior duo take command as Maxwell Lovett picked up 142 receiving yards and a pair of scores and Brady Vodicka threw for 198 yards and two TDs on only nine passes.

Valor Christian's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Cherry Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.

Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Valor Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 177.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cherry Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 203.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Valor Christian might still be hurting after the 42-17 loss they got from Cherry Creek in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
