Soccer Game Preview: St. Joseph vs. Freedom Prep Academy

The St. Joseph Jayhawks will face off against the Freedom Prep Academy Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

While St. Joseph's victory against Intermountain Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jayhawks won by a goal and slipped past the Lions 4-3. St. Joseph haven't had any issues with Intermountain Christian recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

St. Joseph hit Intermountain Christian with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alex Hernandez (2), Brock Smith, and Sebastian Fiederer.

Meanwhile, Freedom Prep Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They beat Beaver by a goal, winning 3-2.

St. Joseph now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Freedom Prep Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Everything went St. Joseph's way against Freedom Prep Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as St. Joseph made off with a 10-1 win. In that match, the Jayhawks amassed a halftime lead of 9-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
