Baseball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Lawrence County's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Lawrence County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Boaz Pirates by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Red Devils have suffered since April 25, 2024.

Elijah Tuckier was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Tripp Engle was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Lawrence County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Boaz, their record is now 9-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence County will take on Haleyville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Haleyville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Lawrence County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Boaz, they will challenge Guntersville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
