Soccer Recap: South Sumter Starts Season with Loss on the Road

South Sumter had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Tavares Bulldogs, falling 6-2. South Sumter were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-1.

Vanessa Moreno and Ana Sousa scored both of South Sumter's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

South Sumter didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 win against Lake Weir on the 28th. As for Tavares, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Mount Dora at 6:00 p.m. on November 4. This will be Tavares' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
