If Mayfield wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mekeel Christian Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Bria Salvo. The Lions blew past the Panthers 3-0 on Wednesday with plenty of help from Salvo, who had 11 aces and three digs. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last four games she's played.
The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-7, 25-21.
Mekeel Christian Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paige Brennan, who had ten kills, four aces, and one block. Another player making a difference was Macie Dell, who had ten kills, three digs, and two blocks.
They weren't the only good servers: Mekeel Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 13 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Amsterdam came up short against Queensbury on Thursday, falling 3-0.
The final score came out to 25-9, 25-10, 25-10.
Amsterdam's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mekeel Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-3-1.
