Softball Game Preview: Viewmont Vikings vs. Bonneville Lakers

Viewmont hasn't had much luck against Bonneville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Vikings will head out to challenge the Lakers at 3:30 p.m. Viewmont has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Viewmont fell victim to Bountiful and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the RedHawks, falling 12-0. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Bonneville lost 14-4 to Farmington on Friday.

Marley Chournos was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Viewmont's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Bonneville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Viewmont couldn't quite get it done against Bonneville when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-5. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
