Softball Recap: Oceanside Comes Up Short

If Oceanside was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Nokomis on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mariners came up short against the Warriors on Monday, falling 17-5. The Mariners were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 16-1.

Oceanside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Nokomis, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, Oceanside will venture away from home to take on Winslow at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Black Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.5 runs per game on average), something the Mariners will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Nokomis, they will square off against Cony at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
