Football Recap: Clinton Takes a Loss

Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Tri-Valley Vikings, falling 56-6. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Vikings are ranked 191st).

Josh Bass threw for 57 yards on eight of 18 attempts. On the ground, Marshawn Fitch rushed for 71 yards.

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Tri-Valley, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Clinton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-6 defeat against Shelbyville on the 10th. As for Tri-Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 21-13 win against Tremont on the 10th.
