Volleyball Recap: Stoughton Vikings vs. Portage Warriors
Stoughton and Portage met for a duel on Saturday where Stoughton couldn't get it done. The Stoughton Vikings fell 2-0 to the Portage Warriors. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September.
Stoughton was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Portage work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 26-24.
Even though they lost, Stoughton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive contests.
Stoughton's defeat dropped their record down to 25-8. As for Portage, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-14 record this season.
