Softball Recap: Schuylkill Valley Has No Trouble Against Tulpehocken

While Schuylkill Valley put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Tulpehocken. The Panthers put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 15-0 victory. Considering the Panthers have won four games by more than 14 runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kayla Konetsky made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Konetsky was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Kylie Gunter was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Brooke Angstadt also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Schuylkill Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Schuylkill Valley and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Tulpehocken, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

Looking ahead, Schuylkill Valley will square off against Kutztown at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Tulpehocken, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Oley Valley at 4:00 p.m.
