Softball Recap: Homestead Takes a Loss

Homestead and Southwest squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Homestead had to settle for second. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 19-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Broncos of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Alondra Pena made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Carla Romero was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Homestead's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Southwest, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

As of now, neither Homestead nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
