Baseball Game Preview: Bolton Bulldogs vs. Windsor Locks Raiders

Bolton is 0-10 against Windsor Locks since April of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Raiders at 3:45 p.m.

Bolton fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against East Granby on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Crusaders by a score of 7-6. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Josh Wagner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson AmEnde, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Windsor Locks had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They never let the Spartans get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. While the Raiders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The result came thanks to Garrett Hinckley's shutout, as he gave up just eight hits.

At the plate, Windsor Locks' win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Zavier Hunt, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Windsor Locks' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Bolton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
