Softball Preview: Booker Tornadoes vs. Gibbs Gladiators

Selina Siquenza was a standout: she scored three runs and stole nine bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen two or more in the last four games she's played. Flor De Luna e Lira was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing seven bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Gibbs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 20-0 walloping at the hands of Northeast. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, Gibbs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
The victory got Booker back to even at 5-5. As for Gibbs, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Booker took their win against Gibbs when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 26-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for Booker since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
