Volleyball Recap: North Star Cougars vs. Everett Warriors
North Star extended their postseason success on Thursday against Everett. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Everett Warriors. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
North Star was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-14, 24-26, 28-26, 15-11.
Brooke Cannin paced North Star's offense, picking up 26 kills. Cannin got some help from
Aidan Barnick and her 47 assists.
Olivia Flesher controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Everett's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carli Mantia, who had 11 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Leader, who had 11 digs.
The victory made it two in a row for North Star and bumps their season record up to 15-9. As for Everett, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.
As of now, neither North Star nor Everett have any future games scheduled.
