Basketball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

Taft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Aiken Falcons, falling 52-13. The Senators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-9.

Taft lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being DiYannah Wright, who posted four points in addition to nine boards and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Wright a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn White, who earned four points and five rebounds.

Taft's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Aiken, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taft will venture away from home to face off against Mercy McAuley at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Aiken, they will head out on the road to take on Turpin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
