Dr. Maya Angelou Community and New West Charter squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Dr. Maya Angelou Community had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to the New West Charter Eagles. The Phoenix's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Leading New West Charter to victory were Lior Einhorn and Liam Hakimi. Einhorn shot 6-for-11 from long range and dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Hakimi posted 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Hakimi has scored at least a third of New West Charter's points.

Dr. Maya Angelou Community's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for New West Charter, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
