Basketball Game Preview: Putnam County War Eagles vs. Social Circle Redskins

The Putnam County War Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Social Circle Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Putnam County comes in on four and Social Circle on three.

Putnam County is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing W D Mohammed: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Putnam County blew W D Mohammed out of the water with an 86-50 final score. The War Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Towers typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Social Circle proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 65-61 victory over the Titans.

Social Circle's win came from a few key players Putnam County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Derrick White, who posted 20 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jameccus Hardge, who had 15 points and six steals.

Social Circle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Social Circle is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Putnam County, their win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-1.

Putnam County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Social Circle in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 74-68 victory.
