Georgia high school football rankings: Top 5 remain intact

Valdosta one of three teams to entire the state's elite after comeback win over previous No. 7 Warner Robins.
There was no movement in the Top 5 after week one of Georgia high school football season. The state's top-ranked team,
Lowndes (Valdosta), got off to a 1-0 start after beating
Archer (Lawrenceville) 35-21 at the Corky Kell Classic. Junior quarterback
Jacurri Brown rushed 17 times for 148 yards and two touchdowns, while completing 11 passes for 164 yards and two more scores.
Teams entering the Top 25 rankings were No. 23
Norcross, No. 21
Richmond Hill and No. 14
Valdosta, which scored 25 second-half points to beat previous 7th-ranked Warner Robins. A 40-yard field goal by
Angel Martinez with 25 seconds left in the game gave the Wildcats the thrilling 28-25 win.
How the Top 5 fared
* No. 1 Lowndes defeated Archer, 35-21.
Stat stars
Denylon Morrissette, Brookwood (Snellville): Had 12 catches for 215 yards and three touchdowns in win over Dacula.
