Georgia high school football rankings: Top 5 remain intact

There was no movement in the Top 5 after week one of Georgia high school football season. The state's top-ranked team, Lowndes (Valdosta), got off to a 1-0 start after beating Archer (Lawrenceville) 35-21 at the Corky Kell Classic. Junior quarterback Jacurri Brown rushed 17 times for 148 yards and two touchdowns, while completing 11 passes for 164 yards and two more scores.

Teams entering the Top 25 rankings were No. 23 Norcross, No. 21 Richmond Hill and No. 14 Valdosta, which scored 25 second-half points to beat previous 7th-ranked Warner Robins. A 40-yard field goal by Angel Martinez with 25 seconds left in the game gave the Wildcats the thrilling 28-25 win.

JC Green, Winder-Barrow (Winder): Rushed 17 times for 184 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-27 win over Apalachee (Winder).

Dylan Lonergan, Brookwood (Snellville): Completed 28 of 43 passes for 433 yards and four touchdowns in a 40-34 win over Dacula.

Denylon Morrissette, Brookwood (Snellville): Had 12 catches for 215 yards and three touchdowns in win over Dacula.

Darius Stone, Aquinas (Augusta): rushed 12 times for 258 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-33 win over Harlem.

Brock Vandagriff, Prince Avenue Christian (Athens): Completed 17 of 26 for 246 yards and four touchdowns, plus ran 10 times for 93 yards and two more scores in a 42-7 win over Calvary Day (Savannah).
