Stratford Academy hasn't had much luck against Piedmont Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Stratford Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Piedmont Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m.

Stratford Academy lost 12-3 to Tattnall Square Academy on Wednesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Stratford Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Jordan, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Jordan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Cordtney Galioa, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with an RBI.

Meanwhile, Piedmont Academy made easy work of Mount de Sales Academy on Tuesday and carried off a 16-1 win. Considering the Cougars have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Marissa Holder was incredible, going 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and a triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in October of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Stowe, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Piedmont Academy didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with five strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount de Sales Academy only tossed two.

Stratford Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Piedmont Academy, their record now sits at 11-1.
