Recap: McEwen Warriors vs. Montgomery Central Indians
The McEwen Warriors entered their tilt with the Montgomery Central Indians with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. McEwen secured a 47-43 W over Montgomery Central on Monday. Given McEwen's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Montgomery Central is ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Drew Yarbrough, who scored 17 points. Yarbrough scored a full 39.5% of Montgomery Central's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Christian Fox, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
McEwen's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Montgomery Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McEwen will stay at home for another game and welcome Perry County at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th.
