Softball Recap: Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] Takes a Loss

Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] blew Hazen out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Hazen got their revenge. The Cougars fell just short of the Bison by a score of 7-5. The Cougars' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

River Fylling put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Fylling was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Fylling wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sally Heger, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That stolen base was Heger's first of the season.

Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky]'s defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hazen, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8.

Looking ahead, Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] will take on Nedrose at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hazen, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-5 win against Turtle Lake-Mercer on the 1st.
