Volleyball Recap: Providence Classical Christian's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Providence Classical Christian needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight matches and they got it from Tori Lingerfelt. The Warriors put the hurt on the Academe of the Oaks Firebirds with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday with plenty of help from Lingerfelt, who had seven aces and three digs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.4 aces per game.

Providence Classical Christian was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-9, 25-21.

Several Firebirds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Avery Pribble, who had three digs and three aces. Pribble is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Providence Classical Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Academe of the Oaks, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Academe of the Oaks has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against The New School on the 30th. Hopefully Providence Classical Christian paid attention to the Firebirds' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Firebirds at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
