Basketball Recap: Polo Comes Up Short

Polo lost against Scales Mound back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Polo Marcos took a 65-46 bruising from the Scales Mound Hornets.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Scales Mound to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaden Duerr, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 20 points and five assists. Aidan Soppe was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.

Polo's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Scales Mound, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Polo will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Polo likes a good challenge. As for Scales Mound, they will head out on the road to square off against Warren at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Warren has won six straight at home, while Scales Mound won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
