Basketball Recap: Walthill Comes Up Short

Walthill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 60-29 loss at the hands of the Wisner-Pilger Gators.

Walthill's loss came despite strong showings from Aubry Pilcher and Brooklyn Monroy. Pilcher shot 58% from the field to rack up 17 points and four steals, while Monroy posted ten points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Emerson Bellar continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wisner-Pilger, going 9-for-18 en route to 28 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Bellar has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jesa Montgomery, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Walthill's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Wisner-Pilger, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season.

Walthill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wisner-Pilger, they have already played their next matchup, a 44-31 loss against Pender on the 17th.
