After both having extra time off, the Notre Dame Prep Saints and the Horizon Huskies will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Notre Dame Prep turned things around against Desert Mountain on Wednesday. They blew past the Wolves 3-0. The Saints not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0).
While Notre Dame Prep won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-17, 25-18.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Horizon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on Desert Mountain with a sharp 3-0 win on Monday.
Horizon never let Desert Mountain on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 25-16.
Horizon's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Notre Dame Prep, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Notre Dame Prep has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Horizon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.7 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Notre Dame Prep suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Horizon in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
