Volleyball Game Preview: Evanston Wildkits vs. Maine South Hawks

The Evanston Wildkits are taking a road trip to take on the Maine South Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Evanston took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Jones by a score of 2-0.

Evanston easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Maine South narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Deerfield 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Maine South got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The final score came out to 28-30, 25-18, 25-21.

Evanston better keep an eye on Daniel Troyan. He was instrumental in Maine South's win, getting 14 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Troyan has posted since back in April.

Evanston's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-17. As for Maine South, their record is now 23-11.

Evanston came up short against Maine South in their previous matchup back in April, falling 2-0. Can the Wildkits avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
