Softball Recap: Bear River Comes Up Short

Bear River's last matchup with Rio Americano could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Saturday. The Bear River Bruins lost 15-3 to the Rio Americano Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bruins of the 5-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.

Bear River saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adilaide Mason, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

This is the second loss in a row for Bear River and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Rio Americano, they moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bear River will take on Colfax at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Bear River their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Rio Americano, they will square off against Vista del Lago at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Rio Americano is facing Vista del Lago at the right time seeing as Vista del Lago is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
