Baseball Recap: Mashpee Comes Up Short

Mashpee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 12-8 to the Abington Green Wave. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Wave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-5 back in April.

James Serafini made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Andrew Fancher was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mashpee's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Abington, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-8.

Looking ahead, Mashpee will welcome Barnstable at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Abington, they will venture away from home to challenge East Bridgewater at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
