Basketball Game Preview: Alexandria City Titans vs. West Potomac Wolverines

The Alexandria City Titans will venture away from home to face off against the West Potomac Wolverines at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Alexandria City is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Robinson on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Alexandria City took a blow against Robinson, falling 65-37. The contest marked the Titans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, West Potomac came up short against Woodson on Friday and fell 57-47. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while the Cavaliers are ranked eighth).

West Potomac now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Alexandria City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.

Alexandria City came up short against West Potomac when the teams last played back in January, falling 72-61. Can Alexandria City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
