Edwardsburg had won three straight at home, but  on Saturday they bumped their record up to 17-11 to make it four. They came out on top against the Dowagiac Chieftains by a score of  4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Eddies have posted  since May 4, 2024.
As for Dowagiac,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 31-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
For Dowagiac's part,  Bree Campbell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on three hits and racked up 15 Ks. Campbell has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Dowagiac saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Charleigh Reed, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI.
As of now, neither Edwardsburg nor the Chieftains have any future games scheduled.
