Softball Recap: Madison Central Comes Up Short

Madison Central extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They lost 20-1 to the McGraw Eagles. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for McGraw, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games.

For McGraw's part, Remington Stull was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Stull was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Josslyn Eaton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those triples were her first of the season. Emersynn Wilson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

While Madison Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
